One allowance per subscribe-message type

WeChat requires one customer allowance per subscribe-message type — checkout timing is part of the product.

Permission at order summary

WeChat subscribe-message modal for pickup, cancel, and review.

Implementation narrative

Problem

Native-app style push does not exist inside Mini Programs. A poorly timed permission prompt spends attention and weakens the operational message that follows.

Solution

Checkout and feedback flows ask for the permissions tied to pickup status, cancellation, and the later review prompt. The system modal shapes the order summary; a permanent opt-out closes future prompts for that customer.

Context in the Hangzhou case study.

Outcome
  • Permission at order summary: WeChat subscribe-message modal for pickup, cancel, and review.
